# Locations & item minimums

> Set up warehouses and site stores, choose a default receiving location, and set item minimum levels

## Locations

A **location** is where stock physically lives — a central warehouse or a store on a specific job site. Manage them under **Settings → Logistics → Locations** (available to **PM** and **Admin**).

Every organization starts with a default **Almacén principal** warehouse. Add more with **New location**:

* **Name** — how the location appears across Inventory.
* **Type** — **Warehouse** (a general store) or **Site** (a store tied to a job).
* **Project** *(optional)* — link the location to a [project](/budgets/projects-and-departments) so site stores are associated with the job they serve. This is optional and can be set on any location type.
* **Default** — the location pre-selected when you record a receipt. Only one location is the default at a time; marking a new one automatically clears the previous default.

### Removing a location

Deleting a location that has never been used removes it outright. If the location already has stock movements or receipts against it, Seloria **deactivates** it instead of deleting it — this keeps your stock history intact. Deactivated locations stop appearing as options for new receipts and outflows.

## Item minimums

Each item has a **minimum** (reorder) level that drives the low-stock alert on the [Stock](/inventory/stock) page. New items start at zero — so they're never flagged until you set a minimum.

To set one, open the item from the Stock page and click **Edit**. There you can set:

* **Minimum** — when on-hand drops below this number, the item is flagged **below minimum** and counted in the Stock page's low-stock summary.
* **SKU** — assign or correct the item's code (used to match future receipts to the same item).

Setting realistic minimums turns the Stock page into an at-a-glance reorder list: anything flagged below minimum is something to buy again.
